Athlete Report: DANIELLE SUTHERLAND - HOCKEY Dec 2013

“The night after the dinner I flew to Germany for the Junior World Cup, held in Monchengladbach. The team came 9th which was a disappointment to us as we needed to beat Australia”. Danielle produced a solid performance over the tournament and was able to cement her spot on the team. Back in Auckland, Danielle played in the National Hockey League repre-senting Auckland where the team fin-ished 3rd, playing Canterbury in the playoff. Danielle then travelled to Hobart where she represented the Northern Territory Pearls in the Australian Hockey League. Gaining experience and developing her hockey against stronger opposition. Danielle has full training weeks planned until January focusing on con-ditioning and strength. Being part of the Blacksticks has improved her game significantly since making the squad in August.
