Athlete Report: ELIZABETH CUI - DIVER Dec 2013

Elizabeth Cui is a member of the Diving New Zealand team. At the 2013 New Zealand Nationals, she placed 1st in the 1 metre and 3 metre age group event. She was also 2nd in the platform event for Open Women grade. During the open women's one metre event Elizabeth unfortunately hit the diving board mid-dive with her left arm and right finger. Despite hitting the diving board, she chose to come back and continue competing. At the Junior Australian Elite Championships, Elizabeth was able to bring home a Bronze Medal in the 1 metre age group competition. At the recent Pacific Rim Championships, Elizabeth brought home a bronze medal for the 1 metre age group event and 2 silvers for the age group and knock out 3 metre events. She has the first Commonwealth games qualifier in De-cember this year, which is the 2013 Australian Open Championships. Great o see Elizabeth's perseverance through her injury in competition, best of luck for December.
