Athlete Report: LEWIS HOLLOWS - ROWING Feb 2014

After a long recovery from my back injury I finally had my first regatta last weekend (24-26th January 2014), the Cambridge town cup. It is also the national 'small boats' regatta, meaning that the Single sculls and the Pair are looked at very seriously by the New Zealand selectors, so I was very happy to be competing again. Being in the regional performance system we all had to race a small boat, and so did the New Zealand rowers, my single final had 3 Olympic champions in it - Mahe Drysdale, Eric Murray and Hamish Bond. I also raced a double sculls where we had more Olympic Medalists and Olympians to race, so to say the competition was stiff is an understatement!
