Daniell Mettam - Auckland 600cc Motorbike Champion

Just a quick note to let you know that Daniel won the last 3 races of the Auckland Championship at Hampton Downs (see below report) & in doing so ended up comfortably winning the Auckland 600cc Title which was his goal back in Sept at the start of the 6 rnd, 17 race summer championship – It is a good title to have won & he showed good form in winning 8 of the 17 races –

Also, due to an online voting forum held recently he has been fortunate enough to be awarded a display stand at The Auckland Speedshow, 19-20 July (ASB Showgrounds – Greenlane) in the ‘Kiwi Young Guns’ area where he will have the bike on display (as well as himself) – The show has a good following & gets a good number of people through the doors over the week-end -

His goal for this coming season is to win the NZ 600cc Title – This will take a good deal of preparation, planning & effort but we know he has the pace & lap times to run up front in this class at each track in NZ –The last 4 NZ 600cc Champions have been aged 42, 43 & 31, 32 – Daniel is looking to become one of the youngest championship winners ever at 19 in this class –This coming year will be his 3rd season on a 600cc bike & we know that with the progress he made this season this goal is realistic –

Once again Michael, a massive thanks to DOYSF & all their support staff (Including yourself) for their backing of Daniel over the past 3 years – It has helped to keep him racing at the top in NZ – We know he has the talent/pace to run up front overseas but that unfortunately at this stage is too big a $$ currently - We look forward to hopefully being able to continue the association next season
