Kosei James Mc Grath-Takeji

Kosei Mc Grath Takeji has been making significant strides in the world of tenpin bowling, showcasing his talent and dedication on both national and international stages. Since 2022, he has proudly represented New Zealand as a U18 and U21 competitor, with aspirations of becoming a professional bowler and earning substantial prize money annually.
His impressive achievements include being part of the New Zealand team that won the U18 President Shield Teams Event and placing second in the U18 Singles category, as well as securing victory in the Adult Walter Rachuig Trophy Teams Event in Tasmania, Australia, as a member of the U21 Team. Moreover, Kosei has demonstrated his dominance nationally by setting a 9-game record of 2208 Total Pinfall to win the U18 Masters Nationals in Auckland, alongside winning the Trans-Tasman Challenge U18 Teams Event, showcasing his consistency and skill on the lanes.
Internationally, Kosei has showcased his prowess at the U21 Youth Asian Games, where he competed against top competitors from 14 countries and secured a commendable 25th place finish out of 66 participants. With an impressive record of seven perfect 300 games, Kosei's achievements in the sport are akin to golf's hole-in-one, highlighting his precision and mastery of the game. Despite facing challenges such as narrowly missing qualification for the matchplay finals in a singles event in Malaysia, Kosei remains undeterred in his pursuit of excellence. Looking ahead, he is set to compete in the IBF World U21 Youth Championships in Incheon, Seoul, Korea, in July 2024, where he aims to further solidify his standing as one of New Zealand's top tenpin bowlers on the world stage.
