Brigham Hakaraia is a talented young basketball player representing Waitākere West Auckland Basketball and coached by Ben Sheat, competing under Basketball New Zealand. Competing in the U18 age group, Brigham is currently ranked #1 nationally.

Brigham has achieved strong success across both national and international youth competitions. He has represented New Zealand in the U15 and U16 national teams, including helping New Zealand secure second place at the Oceania U16 Championships. He has also been selected again for the New Zealand U16 team competing in Mongolia, continuing his development on the international stage.

Domestically, Brigham has been a standout performer in youth basketball competitions. He was named Most Valuable Player at the U16 Basketball New Zealand Nationals, where his Waitākere West Auckland team won the national title. He has also earned MVP honours at the HoopNation Junior Showcase, where his team claimed the championship.

In addition to his representative success, Brigham has been a key contributor for Auckland Grammar School, helping the team win Auckland and Greater Auckland championships and achieve strong results at national secondary school tournaments. His performances continue to establish him as one of New Zealand’s promising young basketball talents.
