
Isaac Gear
Achievements:
Isaac Gear is a leading young surf lifesaving athlete representing Piha Surf Life Saving Club, coached by Conor Bradding, and competing under Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ). Competing in the U19 division, Isaac is currently ranked #1 in New Zealand in his age group.
Isaac has achieved strong success across both surf lifesaving and competitive swimming, delivering standout performances at regional and national championships. His results include podium finishes at the New Zealand Surf Lifesaving Nationals and strong performances across surf events including the Ironman, surf swim, board and ski races.
Internationally, Isaac competed at the Junior World Lifesaving Championships, where he helped secure silver medals in the beach relay and mixed lifesaver relay, and a bronze medal in the manikin relay and obstacle relay.
Isaac has also excelled in pool rescue and competitive swimming, setting a New Zealand Under-19 record in the 200m Super Lifesaver event, previously held by Olympic swimmer Lewis Clareburt. His performances continue to establish him as one of New Zealand’s most promising young athletes in surf lifesaving.
