Lauran Barrett-Hamilton is an emerging New Zealand track and field athlete specialising in the heptathlon, representing Waitākere City Athletic Club and competing under Athletics New Zealand. She is coached by Ed Leung, Carmel Ireland, John Eden, and Rob Taylor, and competes across multiple events including 100m hurdles, triple jump, high jump and combined events.

Lauran has achieved strong performances at national competitions, including winning the Senior Girls 100m Hurdles title at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Athletics

Championships, where she set a new personal best. She has also earned national medals in the triple jump and high jump, establishing herself as a versatile multi-event athlete.

Internationally, Lauran represented New Zealand at the Oceania Athletics Championships in Fiji, competing in the 100m hurdles, high jump and triple jump, where she achieved podium and personal best performances. She was also selected for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Athletics Team touring Los Angeles, gaining valuable experience at elite competitions including the prestigious Arcadia Invitational.

With her transition toward specialising in the heptathlon, Lauran continues to build the diverse skill set required for combined events and is developing into one of New Zealand’s promising young multi-event athletes.
