Lexi Hedington is a talented young football (soccer) player representing Auckland United FC and coached by Jo Dawkins, competing within Northern Region Football. Playing in the U14 age group, Lexi has quickly established herself as one of the country’s most promising young footballers.

Lexi has achieved success across both school and club football, helping her teams secure multiple championships including National Futsal Junior titles, Auckland League and Grammar Cup championships, and National Football Championship victories with Mount Albert Grammar School (MAGS). She has also earned individual recognition through school awards including the Blue Cap for Auckland Champion representation, Sports Lion award for representing MAGS at the highest level, and the KB Fallon Cup for Most Promising Junior Female Footballer.

At club level with Auckland United FC, Lexi has been part of successful youth teams and was named Most Valuable Player for the U13 squad. She has also gained valuable international experience through a club tour to Japan, competing against academy teams from Yokohama F. Marinos, FC Tokyo, and Kashiwa Reysol.

A major milestone in her development came with selection for the New Zealand U16 Women’s Football Team, competing at the OFC Women’s U16 Championship in Samoa. In her opening match for New Zealand, she started in the team’s 4–0 win against Tonga, representing her country at just 14 years old.

Lexi continues to develop her game through high-performance training and competition, including playing in a Top Development Players (TDP) boys team, where she challenges herself against older and stronger competition while continuing to grow her tactical understanding and technical ability.
