
Oliver Lloyd
Achievements:
Oliver Lloyd is a leading young yachting athlete representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and coached by Zak Merton, competing under Yachting New Zealand. Competing at the U23 level, Oliver is currently ranked #1 in New Zealand in youth match racing.
Oliver has achieved significant success in both domestic and international sailing competitions, particularly in match racing and keelboat events. His recent achievements include winning the 2025 Hardy Cup, one of the world’s premier youth match racing regattas, as well as securing the New Zealand Keelboat National Championship. He has also recorded strong performances at events such as the Centreport Youth International, Open Match Racing Nationals, and the 18 Foot Skiff Nationals.
Internationally, Oliver has competed across a wide range of high-level regattas, including the Maxi World Championships, where he finished vice-champion, and the 69F Youth Foiling Gold Cup. His experience also includes racing in Europe at events such as Palma Vela and the Balearic Classic Regatta, highlighting his versatility across multiple sailing classes.
Oliver’s current focus is on continuing to build success in international youth match racing, with goals of performing strongly at major events such as the Governor’s Cup and the Team Racing World Championships, while further developing his skills across keelboat and high-performance foiling classes.
